These tracks were devised in collaboration with choreographer / dancer Erik Thurmond, writer Johnny Drago and an exceptional cast of dancers as part of 'Ripple', a piece commissioned by Glo Atl and the Goat Farm for the Tanz Farm dance series in Atlanta GA, Spring 2015.
Performers featured: Anicka Austin, Anna Bracewell, Kristin D'Addario, Miriam Golomb , Noelle Kayser, Claire Molla, Erik Thurmond, Melissa Word.
A wide range of sounds featured on the album were sampled from speech, laughter and other candid sounds provided by the cast in the studio. They inspired the work and infused it with their personalities and talents, woven through the entire soundtrack.
Johnny Drago's wonderful libretto, which guided both the choreographic and musical development of the piece, is included with the tracks, to provide greater context, and because it's beautiful.
My thanks go to Blake Helton and Colin Bragg, who were integral contributors to the live performance of the score.
Technical note: the score presented here is a stereo version prepared for listening on conventional audio devices. The original score was composed and performed in 4.1 surround sound, in response to the shape of the piece and the space it occupied.
